Can I get this R1 to start? Yamaha R1 with a mystery history gets a real quick carb clean. ----------------------------- Inside the carbs was very dry, and corroded. Cleaned them out, and it started decently well. It runs ok(ish). This absolutely does not make the bike rideable. It needs a ton of work, this is just the beginning. I plan to do a series on this bike, kind of like I did last winter with the DRZ. I filmed all the shots in wide aspect ratio, and cropped it to fit short form vertical videos. Ducati V4 Oil Change. Easy as *most* other bikes. Just need to be aware of this one thing.... This bike is no longer under warranty. Oil changes from third parties are fine. Draining/ refilling the oil is pretty simple. I think if you can do it on other bikes, you can probably do it on one of these. The only unique “procedure” is how long to let it drain, and how long to wait to check the oil. I’ll have a video out on this in a few weeks, waiting to film one more V4. Also, you’ll need a special tool to reset the service light. HOWEVER. The bike is still ridable with the light on, it’s just a nuisance. I use a dealer scanner, hence why I didn’t mention it in my other video. I had a company reach out earlier this year with an aftermarket option. I’ll test it out soon and let you know how it goes.
