I wasn't sure if I would ever post anything from this day. We said goodbye to Brick in the most beautiful spot at the UofS so he could contribute to cancer research. It's a long story, but he may be the first one to be researched with the type of cancer he had, which could help both humans and pets alike. He is already participating in a gene marker study. His cancer was banked and will be kept forever, to be studied and researched and hopefully that will help someone else one day - maybe something positive can come from all of this devastation. We moved mountains to try and change the narrative, but the big C had other plans. This still feels like a cruel joke and a bad dream that I can't wake up from. We picked daisies, he dipped his toes in the water one last time, and then he snuggled up in his coat & as many fuzzy blankets as I could fit in my car. It was pouring rain, which isn't ideal, but I've always felt weirdly comforted by the rain. It was tragic, and devastating, and beautiful all at the same time. I miss you more than words, my sweet sweet Bricky boy 🤍🧱🌈 #americanbully #griefjourney #doglossgrief #petloss #dogloss #cancersucks #petgrief
