📍 Tiramisu Bistro | Edmonton Another spot to get pasta in a cheese wheel! 🧀 Lift Me Up inside Tiramisu Bistro has just introduced it to on their evening menu. It’s available on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for $24. The pasta is made inside a giant parmesan wheel with tons of parmesan added to it. It was very cheesy but the right amount for me personally. I also got pizza sticks to go with it which I recommend. Other items you can find on the menu are tapas and charcuterie. 📍 Smilie’s Place | Edmonton This is the first hot pot train in Edmonton! 🍲🚊 The cost is $30 for all you can eat during dinner or $20 for a lunch combo (the conveyor belt isn’t available during lunch). The broth is an additional cost but it’s currently complimentary during their soft opening period. Otherwise, it costs $5 for a single pot, $20 for a double pot or quad pot which are meant for sharing. We chose the quad pot and had tomato, pork bone, mushroom, and tom yum. Our table liked the tomato and mushroom broths as they were the most flavourful. Some items are available by order only such as beef, pork, lamb, and oysters. On the conveyor belt, you’ll find seafood, carbs, and cooked items like Chinese food from the restaurant upstairs. The only dessert I saw were deep fried buns with condensed milk. In terms of quality, it’s similar to other hot pot places like Asian Express and Chili. I do wonder how fresh the cooked food on the conveyor belt is because the ones I tried were room temperature. It might depend on how busy it is when you go. I recommend making a reservation because the dining area is small. 📍 Lift Me Up | Edmonton New sandwich bar from the owner of Tiramisu Bistro! 🥪 It’s a cozy + inviting space and the exterior looks like something out of a Hallmark Christmas movie. During the day, you can get fresh focaccia sandwiches. Once evening hits, the menu changes to meat & cheese boards. I tried the Truffle Delight and Rustico Italiano, but particularly liked the latter. Their focaccia bread is something else. The ingredients tasted premium and they don’t skimp out on quantity. 📍 Fawkes | Edmonton A cafe that opens until 10 pm! 🌙 Fawkes is located downtown on 104 street. The space is cozy, aesthetic, and quite spacious with lots of seating. You may know them for their vegan doughnuts which are light and fluffy. The texture reminded me of cake. There’s also light lunch/snacks offered for food, and cafe drinks. 📍 Krispy Kreme | Edmonton Krispy Kreme is opening up on December 10! 🍩 The store is located on the southside. [hosted] This location has a doughnut theatre which is cool to see — you can watch the creation of the Original Glazed doughnut from start to finish. There’s a Hot Light which lights up when fresh doughnuts are being made. I feel like people think that they only have one flavour but there’s actually an assortment including filled doughnuts! Of course the Original Glazed is my go-to here. The number of times that I’ve gone to the US and flew back with a dozen of these, now I won’t need to anymore. It’s $16 for a dozen here.
