📍Let’s Grill Hot Pot | Edmonton We have our own version of Big Way! 🥘 The concept is build your own hot pot. Pick up a bowl, choose your ingredients, weigh the bowl, and then choose a broth or dry mix. The restaurant will cook it for you. Pricing depends on the weight of the ingredients ($3.99/100g) + broth/mix. My friend and I each paid $10.37 for ours which was less than we expected. I was a bit overwhelmed by the selection and could’ve filled up my bowl with more. Most of the broth choices are spicy so I went with tomato soup because it has no spice. The soup was quite flavourful. The ingredients were the same quality as to what you’d get at other hot pot places. There’s appetizers that you can order for an additional charge. The restaurant is on the smaller side so some of the tables are communal. I went right at opening but it did fill up quite quickly. #hotpot #yegfood #yeg #edmontonfood #edmonton #edmontontiktok
📍 Dave’s Hot Chicken | Edmonton First location in Western Canada! 🐔 I was invited for a sneak peek. The grand opening is this Friday, March 21. [hosted] This LA-based chain specializes in Nashville chicken. You can get it as a slider, tender, or bites. There are 7 spice levels to choose from, ranging from no spice to reaper. The spiciest level requires signing a waiver. I ordered one of their boxes (#3) which comes with a tender, slider, and fries for $19. I chose the second heat level, lite mild, but tasted no spice. I prefer a slight kick so next time I’d get mild or medium. The chicken was tender and flavourful. The fries were crispy. I also had their loaded fries which was good. For drinks, you can get milkshakes or slushes. I tried a strawberry oreo milkshake + cherry cola slush. They officially open on Friday at 11 am but I heard there’s a soft opening tomorrow (Thursday). Anticipate wait times; we waited a bit for our food even though it wasn’t too busy. Keep in mind that they are brand new. #daveshotchicken #yegfood #yeg #edmontonfood #edmonton #edmontontiktok
📍 Dutch Oven Kitchen | Spruce Grove This place is worth the drive from Edmonton! 🚗 It’s located in Spruce Grove. They only offer take out and delivery so I picked up lunch when I was in the area recently. Their menu has comfort food like sandwiches, burgers, salads, etc. It might not sound like anything special at first glance but the food here was so good. There’s also a small selection of Dutch items. I had the brisket sandwich which was stuffed with meat. It was quite saucy and did get messy — wouldn’t recommend eating this in your car unless you have a lot of napkins. I also got the warm potato salad. If you know me, you know I love this from Earls but it tasted better and homemade here. There was a smoky flavour to it which reminded me of a BBQ in the summer. If you’re in Spruce Grove, I recommend trying out this place. I ordered online when I was leaving Edmonton so my food was ready upon pickup. The sandwich was $18 and the salad was $6. #sprucegrove #yegfood #yeg #edmontonfood #edmonton #edmontontiktok
📍 CQ Noodle | Edmonton This restaurant makes their own noodles and dumplings! 🍜🥟 The name stands for “Chongqing Noodle” which is what they specialize in. Chongqing is a city in China that’s known for spicy food. You’re able to choose the spice levels here for your noodles. I tried the braised beef noodle soup which is their most popular item. My spice tolerance is quite low so I didn’t get any spice but the broth left my mouth with a tingly feeling. There were a ton of noodles and it felt neverending as I ate. The noodles were perfectly cooked and handmade by the restaurant. The braised beef was tender. My friend had the lowest spice level and said it was also tingly with some flavour. We also tried their handmade dumplings which were filled with pork and tasted good. #noodleshop #yegfood #yeg #edmontonfood #edmonton #edmontontiktok
📍 Boa & Hare | Edmonton This has quickly become my favourite spot for a strawberry matcha latte! 🍓🍵 I’ve been here 4x in the past 10 days and I will probably be back again sometime this week lol. Their concept is cafe by day and cocktail bar by night. Since they’re currently in a soft opening phase, they’re only open from 9 am to 3 pm daily. They will be open evenings in the future. On the daytime menu, you’ll find cafe drinks, baos, and salads. My go-to order is a strawberry matcha latte with oat milk and extra strawberry syrup. The syrup is made in house. I find the matcha to be not too sweet and not too bitter. It’s the perfect shade of green, and costs me $8.50. I was gifted their baos to try during one of my visits. They have 3 types — Taiwanese braised pork, curry katsu, and spam + egg. I tried the first 2 and liked the curry katsu the most. #strawberrymatcha #yegcafe #yegfood #yeg #edmontonfood #edmonton #edmontontiktok
📍 Victoria Fancy Sausage | Edmonton A butcher shop & deli that offers hot food! 🌭 I’ve driven by this place so many times but never stopped in until now. I came here for lunch which includes kubusa/smokies on a bun, smoked meats, sandwiches, soups, and more. It was a Thursday so the daily features were burnt bacon ends and chicken wings. These are all of their daily features: •Mon to Fri - brisket, sweet n sour ribs, or chicken thighs and rice •Tues - chicken fajitas and rice •Wed/Thurs/Fri - meatballs and rice, ribs and rice •Thurs/Fri - burnt bacon ends and chicken wings •Sat - traditional Dutch food, BBQ pork roast, boiled bacon (full belly - takes 1 week to make) The food here was tasty and inexpensive. I recommend trying the beef rib and burnt bacon ends. Along with the butcher shop and deli, there’s a section with European groceries and items. #yegfood #yeg #edmontonfood #edmonton #edmontontiktok
📍 Pablo Cheese Tart | Edmonton The cutest macarons and bear cakes! 🐻 [gifted] There’s 18 different flavours of macarons and 3 series — cartoon (it’s giving Jellycat), puppy, and bear. You can get them individually or by the box. The macarons are stuffed and sweet. The bear cakes are made of mousse with a light and airy texture. There’s 4 flavours — grizzly bear (white chocolate + mango), pink bear (strawberry), brown bear (chocolate), and panda bear (bamboo charcoal cheese + raspberry). I like how they’re not too sweet. #jellycat #bearcake #yegfood #yeg #edmontonfood #edmonton #edmontontiktok
📍 Drty Ice Cream | Edmonton The newest addition to Station Park! 🍦 They’re an ice cream shop operating out of a shipping container. The flavours are inspired by Filipino sorbets. The Sorbabies comes with 4 baby size ice cream cones for $6. It’s ideal for sampling if you want to try multiple flavours. I had strawberry calamansi, ube, mango float, and chocolate toffee. The ones I liked the most were ube and mango float. The small size definitely made me want more and I would opt for a regular size ice cream next time. You can get an individual sorbete for $2 or regular ice cream for $5.50 (one scoop) / $7.50 (two scoops). #icecream #yegfood #yeg #edmontonfood #edmonton #edmontontiktok
