“Replace the bedside” Yes, I could do that & it would’ve been less time consuming. I chose to do it this way to keepnthe original patina & fine tune my fab skills. There’s no better canvas than something that can be easily replaced if I screw it up.
Vortec 4200 oil pan mods. When I built this, there wasn’t a rear sump oil panel available for the in-line six. I purchased a rear sump pan for the in-line five and made the necessary adjustments.
The move has brought DeadWood back in the spotlight. Engine/ transmission going back in tomorrow then off to Strange Brew Fab for intake, exhaust & turbo goodness
My buddy Joel popped by and taught me a thing or two about aluminum welding. We got the rear sump oil pan finished for our C10 “Deadwood” Did I mention this thing is going to be turbo’d??!!!! #v#vortec4200i#inline6ix
C10 loses 6” off the back. This is one of my favorite vids of this process & I hope you enjoy this series as I reflect on the last couple years of what weve been able to accomplish. Cheers! #c10 #deadwood
C10 short bed conversion. Welding up the frame. Weld through primer, fish plates & yes, you can weld top down in this scenario…(gonna be a lot of uninformed haters lol) Shout out to Strange Brew Fab for the outer plates. Im not a certified welder & wont put something on the road without critical stress points welded in by someone who is. Thanks for watching!
One of our most controversial mods was the big back window conversion on Rampy…😂 “HOW DARE YOU, THATS RUINING A CLASSIC, NOT ORIGINAL” uh, you see the LS in the back?
From Crusty to Deadwood this process has challenged my abilities & taught me not to be afraid to try. Its not about replacing panels & making this perfect. Its about the process, the metal fab, the fitment, the “just look at it” & YES, were gonna shorten that camper shell too 🙌👊
