Throwback to one of our most difficult rescues! 🐑❤️ In 2022, after surviving years in the Australian bush, hidden under a massive 26kg (57lbs) of wool, Victoria was finally brought to sanctuary! With the help of 18 dedicated team members, she was rescued after a five-hour trek through the mountains. Though the team lost sight of her several times, they never gave up, and Victoria was finally freed from her burdensome fleece. 💪 Sheep like Victoria need yearly shearing—a result of human breeding for wool, which has transformed them from their wild ancestors, who naturally shed with the seasons. Now, they rely on us for care, food, shelter, and shearing. One year ago, Masha arrived at Edgar's Mission, scared and uncertain. 🐐 Her past had been anything but kind, and she struggled to trust anyone.
