It’s Panettone season, and that means lots of work to do this month! Here’s a video of my first panettone bake of the season. This festive bread is a labour of love, and can take up to 3 days to make. Panettone originated in Milan almost 500 years ago and has since been crowned the king of bread. Traditionally served during the holidays, this luxurious, naturally leavened bread is known for its light, fluffy texture and signature dome shape. While classic panettone features dried fruits and citrus, its versatility means it can be filled with just about anything. Over the years, I’ve created versions with chocolate, nut pastes, Reese’s Pieces, and even mini eggs! I’ve also come across some savoury variations that I might need to try one day. Let me know what variation(s) are your favourite in the comments!
